i answered z80, however after reading the other posts i realize i probably misunderstood the question, i use my computer more than my calc, however i do not know what my pc's hardware platform is.

this isnt very on topic, but i need help urgently. My ti 83+ SE is messing up. every time i turn it on it crashes and resets the ram after a minute when it is on. I tried redownloading the os, taking out the batteries, and throwing it at my wall, but nothing seems to work. any one know whats going on, or how to fix this?

African or European?

If you've got a windows pc, it's probably x86 (Intel). Macs run on PowerPC, and other stuff runs on other stuff(forgot the name). I use the 68k as my *real* primary hardware platform, because I am a hardcore ASM coder and the 68k has the best instruction set. If only there were versions with modern clock speeds, etc...

About the 83... what programs have you got on there? ASM shells, apps, maybe even BASIC programs. One of them might be the 'killer'. We need more information!

i have alot of asm games, and i have alot of apps. i think it started crashing after i was looking through a notefolio file and the screen went blank, the ram was reset, and all hades broke out after that

Have you tried holding [On]+[Del] while turning on your calc and then re/installing a new copy of the OS from your computer?

What version of the OS are you running? If the answer is anything less than 1.16, try installing OS version 1.16 and seeing if that helps.

I believe the PPC processor is binary compatible with 68k, which means you can write 68k asm programs and run them on a PPC machine (e.g., Apple computers).

I may be wrong, though.

Nope. All emulation of 68k code on PPC is done in software.

Yeah, sometimes one of my calcs does that-crashes for no real reason when I'm using a certain program that's worked perfectly before ;). When you send a new OS, is the archive cleared? (Sorry, I don't have an '83+ SE). If it isn't, maybe you should try clearing the archive, then installing the new OS (the newest version), then clearing the RAM.

If they had PIC, I might have picked that....:). I'm into hardware, if you couldn't tell-currently building a distortion and reverb box for my electric guitar.

I was bored at work over summer (Electronics firm) so I searched for PIC on the net, then did a google 'image search'. Oopppsss! Well that's one way of getting porn at work.

Still, I can't say much - I am currently suffering use of a x86 (I want AMD64 or PPC-G5 some time). I also use 68k a small amount (Atari STe).

Yeh, work was boring and i could say the search was wqork related because I was working with FPGAs. Although this company never seems to want an explaination.

Wow.....FPGAs!!!!! Boring? I would give almost anything (not including my collection of Bon Jovi songs) to have an FPGA programmer and a few of those things....or did the boring part not involve FPGAs?
