I learned asm a long time ago for my ti86 by reading books on assembly from a library. One book i read was about the 8086 and I was horified. Then I read a book about the 68k and was greatly impressed. Then a few months later i found out that the 89 had a 68k. So I ditched the 86 to a little sister and got an 89.
The best way to learn asm or any language is to develope a project. For me that was yapt.

I learned on my own by studying the asm files that were produced from various compilers (i.e. TIGCC).
