Re: A92: TI-92: Comments & Questions
about the ti-92 reference manuals, schematics, and other things like the
programming language that the ti-rom programmers used:
{{Why can't I/we have the same information?}}
I was wondering the same question myself. Here's a more perspective of
how we (as both consumers and programmers) think about the stuff TI is
keeping from us: "TI has copyrights and/or patents on every single
thing that is produced in the TI-company such as TI-92, et al., why
can't TI give out these specifics for everyone to be able to see and
better understand (for those of us able to understand) our calculators?"
I think you have the whole country in vote of your company for choosing
a calculator (meaning if there was a contest, TI would win by a
landslide). If the country is in vote, AND you are ensured that you'll
get your money then why don't you just give out the stuff. Here's a
thought, you own the calculators which means you are entitled to
anything that is made on the calculators through copyrights and warranty
crap, which means if we (as programmers) make something great and try
and sell it then you could get some profit from this.
I hope someone in TI understands how we are thinking instead of going to
a bunch of "the American people like this type of product" answering
people or "yesmen." AND I don't want just one person or a couple from
TI to hear what we (as consumers) want, I want the whole company to hear
it. I wish you guys would do public stuff, you need to get out more,
see the world, don't be like Bill Gates and isolate yourself from the
outside world (it kind of makes people wonder if the product is any good
if the company "leader" has to protect himself if you get my meaning).

p.s. no explanations for anything is wanted from the ti-company, just
straight forward answers, none of this "we'll think about it," just
plane out "we're not incorporating that."
