Of course, replace COUNTRYCODE with us, uk, etc., and remove the space. Wouldn't it be possible to add the space automatically when a comment is posted? Then I wouldn't have to do it manually. If you can check to see if a comment is more than 40 chars, surely you can automatically add a space every 40 chars.

tipar and tiusb have been supported for a while. I'm currently running 2.4.20, which supports both.

By the way, tiser will probably never be included because the black cable doesn't use RS232.

Hang on. Not exactly sure here. But I have managed to get serial cable working under linux, and I think it was with a kernel module someone had written, it just wasn't part of the official kernel. So, if I am correct, there may be one in the future. Who knows.

Well, you can use the gray cable with no problem (it's just a matter of permissions on the device.)
To use the black cable you need the tiser module, which you can download from the LPG site. It just isn't officially supported.

What we need is a driver for XP that allows the calc to show up as a separate drive (like digital cameras do), so that on plugging it in a thing will pop up in the system tray 'TI-83 Plus has been connected' and then a neat little calculator icon appears in Explorer.

That'd be cool.

Contrary to tipar/tiusb, the tiser module can not be merged into the mainstream kernel as is. It should be entirely rewritten in order to be compliant with the serial API (line discipline or tty emulation). It's too much work for me, sorry !

BTW, developping a basic Linux driver is not too much difficult. It's easier than Windows, believe me !
Especially when WinDDK samples for USB support are buggy :-(
