New Hardware: The TI-BOX
Posted by Joey on 29 May 2003, 00:13 GMT
The people over at FirstSECTOR have devised a method of converting an old computer into a keyboard, mouse, and floppy drive interface for the TI-92. Check out the French page or go see Google's translation.

wow. this looks pretty cool. someone should make something like this for the 89. they should make it better looking too by painting it black and maybe putting some blue neons in it or something.

Yes, i have though to that, but you can't do this without a system with a microchip, so it would have a lot of connections, memory chip, ...
If you don't make this in CMS,it would be bigger than a motherboard of notebook PC. An it would be more expensive, very more difficult...
And in the end, the TIBOX customized would not very more little that my TIBOX, you must always put a floppy disk drive, battery, ...
And the program will be in C, in Pascal or in ASM.
It would be very more difficult for few things...

Yes, this looks like quite an interesting piece of hardware. (for the 25,678th time...) Too bad I don't have a TI-92. I suppose that the TI-83 Plus might not be powerful enough for something like this. There isn't in fact a whole lot of 3rd-party hardware for the TI-83+...

That would be funny if TI came out with something like this. :-) For all models of course.
