Winamp Plugin for TI-89/92+
Posted by Eric on 3 December 2001, 19:15 GMT
More news from the TI-Hardware front...Carlos Becker has released a program for the TI-89 and TI-92+ that can be used in conjunction with a Winamp plugin to transform your calculator into a remote control of sorts. The setup requires a link cable (nearly all types are supported) to transfer the information. Proceed to download the TI-Winamp package. Update (Eric): The link to the required DLL file is invalid in the documentation of TI-Winamp. You can get it at SourceForge instead. Download the libticables-2.2.0.tar.gz archive, uncompress, and copy libticables.dll into the windows/system folder.

Many people are asking me DLL due to a mislink on the TiLP webpage.
You will find this DLL in the URL field of the message.
Download the libticables-2.2.0.tar.gz archive, uncompress it (with WinZip for instance), go to the win32 folder and copy libticables.dll in the windows/system folder. Enjoy !
I have asked Carlos Becker to include this lib in his archive so that there will not be any problem later...
The libticables has been tested on many platforms including WindowsNT4/2000/XP. Please note that DLPortIO is required for parallel link cables, optionnal for serial/BlackLink cables).

Set Winamp Priority to Normal

I discovered that the TI-Winamp program doesn't work well when Winamp is set to High or Realtime priority. Also, Winamp v2.78 (and others?) says "Note: High and Realtime NOT recommended" next to the Process priority class setting in Preferences | Options.
With priority set to Normal, TI-Winamp works properly.

Which version of WinAmp? Should all the 2.xx versions work?

Hm... I downloaded it and update winamp, but when I load winamp, it seems to work fine. But when i load the player, it loads fine, but doens't seem to access it, giving an "error 1" after a few button presses. Any idea what i missed...? Also, when I go into setting in winamp, and choose to configure the plugin, it tells me the plugin isn't working properly but wlel load, and as the popup states, it loads but doesn't do anything and won't close. Any suggestions on what to try.....?

glib-1.3.dll???

After I install the plugin and the dll files mentioned in the readme into the proper directories, I still get this error message when I try to run Winamp with the plugin running. "This application has failed to start because glib-1.3.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Does anyone know where this file should be? I don't appear to have it anywhere on my hard drive and I can't find it in the documentation or file archives.
Thanks.
