Alien Breed IV by James Vernon
Posted by Nick on 21 June 2001, 08:58 GMT

Alien Breed IVI think you all, as well as I, want to prevent Henrik from posting another Star Trek-themed news item ever ever ever again - ever - so I took the liberty of writing this little ditty up.

James "The Sting" Vernon dropped Alien Breed IV on us a few days prior with versions for the 83, 83 Plus (Ion), 83 Plus (MirageOS), and 86.

This fourth installment in the series combines the good things you saw in Alien Breed II and Alien Breed: Tower Assault. Smooth scrolling, five separate enemies, five weapons, a veritable gaggle of gratuituous graphics, and massive support for external levels is all there for you to peep.

It's 2 AM and I'm really tired (I went to see Tortoise tonight!), but I'm going to get up extra early (in an AM hour for the first time in many moons) so I can see you all at the pah-tay on IRC. The presence of the sun in the east won't help my constantly-surly attitude very much, so there's no doubt in anyone's mind that you will definitely get your fill of nickd-style chutzpah if you decide to stop by. And you should, too, because it promises to be quite a wanky party: as wanky, that is, as parties across the Internet can possibly be.

Great subliminal messages in the title attributes. I think I'll pass on the t-shirt though.

Star Trek Posts

I agree... Henrik should never post another Star Trek themed news item as long as he lives. The second post was somewhat original, and a little funny, but the first post absolutely sucked, and made no sense.

Still I would like to see henrik post more news items, listening to one or two personalities at a time does get boring.

Mysterious announcer voice:"Po-po and lum-dum want to say something!"
telletubbies: "Kill Eveeerryyoonnee! YAY!"
Lisa: did the telletubbies just say to kill everyone?
Bart and Homer: Hehe...he's named po-po...

Could someone please point me to these Star Trek-themed news items? I agree that the last two series weren't nearly as good as the first two (and don't even get me started on how much Enterprise is going to suck....), which is probably because Roddenberry died before their conclusion, but Star Trek (at least TOS, I haven't seen many episodes of TNG, so can't say much firsthand about them) was good scifi in the Roddenberry era of it. It simply appears that Sturgeon's Law is starting to catch up with Star Trek.

Personally I can't see how they're going to do this next series. I liked the original Star Trek, but even though TNG had a larger budget and nicer looking props I think it was too politically correct/modern (or whatever... hard to say. There was more talk and less action or something). Anyway I didn’t like it as much.

Easter Egg
Travis Sinclair  Account Info

Yes, for those of you who didn't know it, there is actually an easter egg in the ti-89. I might just be way behind, but I just now discovered it. Press F5 to go to the prgmIO screen, then diamond, and finally clear. Note: this does not work on vti, second note: all is not well, be carefull.
