Wallpipe for TI-86 Released
Posted by Eric on 29 May 2001, 02:46 GMT

WallpipeNow that programmers have apparently remembered about the existence of the TI-86 again, we have some more news to report. Olivier Lecocq has released a new game called Wallpipe. It's a grayscale puzzle game where your goal is to create the longest uninterrupted pipe you can with randomly-generated blocks (yeah, kinda like tetris, almost...sorta...). Give it a try, mmmkay?

Hey, I know this is the same ol' question, but could you port this to the TI-85 (I'd do it myself, but I don't know how and I don't have time to learn)

There's already a similar game for Usgard. You can get it by clicking the webpage link on the top of this message.

I didn't know about that Pipe dream game. I just checked it out using Ashell to emulate the Ti85 on my Ti86 and while the concept is similar, is was rather poorly executed (I am a bit biased here but you can try it out for yourself ;-)

As for a Ti85 port...I dunno. So far I have only developped programs for the Ti86 and Ti82 (I don't use the latter anymore).
If you could point me to a good Ti85 assembler + helpfile I could give it a try. I don't own a Ti85 so I'll need a beta tester.

I'd beta-test for you. However, I don't know of a good TI-85 assembler, otherwise, I would have already tried it.

Actually, a TI-86 programmer/owner decided to make a game. That's all. These programmers make programs when they feel like it, and they generally make them for the calculator they own (NOT whatever calculator is the flavor of the week). No one forgot about the TI-86. :)

Exactly

although it's not really a coincidence since I sent the program to Eric (thanks Eric for posting this btw) just after I read that post (the game was already finished a few weeks ago).

it really is kind of sad, but it seems like people have forgotten about the 86. and with everyone pro ti-89, the programs that are made for the 86 do not get much attention. im getting sick of everyone saying "you should make this for the ti-89," its getting old. if someone wants a program, they should make it themselves (if it is not already out). although i myself have a ti-89, i do not like the 89 community, most of them are too greedy (or just a handful making the rest of us look greedy). this does look like a very nice programthough, but im too lazy to try it out on my brothers 86, mainly because its my brothers. i do like pipe dream though

I own a 80,81,82,83+,85,86,and 89 i mostly use my 89 but i always carry the 86 and 83+ with me. I agree completly about your comment that if they want something they should make it themselves! Thats why i learned C (well that and i needed something faster than BASIC). There are a few people who are a bit rude *cough* depleteduraniun *cough*, sorry bad cold (and joke) whu make the community look bad. I mostly put games on my 83+ (because my 89 is for my program and the 86 dosen't have flash memory). But i'll look at it on VTI

Hey, has anybody found the secret Cheat Key yet? Just wondering what it is and what it does.

It gives you access to all the levels without having to complete them all.

As for that key...think about what key makes most sense when you think about 'secret' ;-)
