TICT-Explorer v1.0 Released
Posted by Eric on 11 February 2001, 20:33 GMT

TICT-Explorer v1.0 Thomas Nussbaumer has released the first version of TICT-Explorer. This is a nice little file explorer for the TI-89 and TI-92+ that supports all the features you'd expect, plus a whole bunch more. Plus, it requires no shell and will run on all AMS versions without any elite hacking required. And in case you don't speak English (well, I guess in that case you wouldn't be reading this), or if you just want to expose yourself to as much of your foreign language as possible before those AP & IB tests come rolling around in May, there's also versions in German and French. A Spanish version is coming soon.

Download:
For the TI-89: English, French, and German.
For the TI-92+: English, French, and German.

Update (Eric): Hot off the presses, you can now find the Spanish version for the TI-89 and the TI-92+.

well, i tried it. it's pretty good. simple. i think i have a problem with my calc though. after i ran the program it seems that the games i have on the calc no longer want to keep high scores. what could be causing this?

You probably archived them. Archived programs that keep their highscores in their own executable file will never really save their data since they are copied into RAM but not archived back after execution.

Speaking of which...
Do you remember when we talked about a universal way to have programs/games store things somewhat like registry in windows? I never got to program the 89 (yet), but since you are more and more knoledgeable (misspelled...) about it, and have good contacts ;) , ever thought of that again?
Just wondering... I still say it is a nice thing to have, a few library calls in TIGCC :)

Heheh, I´m so silly, I downloaded the 89 version on my 92 Plus by mistake! Works great... just small of course. Really great program! I really like the battery indicator!

Wonderful... I love the nostub part, and being able to run exe-packed programs.... However, I've gotten used to tex, which can also hide, protect, compress files.... And TxtRider formatting... I still think this is a wonderful program though. I'm just hoping for a version which would allow me to can kernals altogther... ;)

TICT Explorer works fine on my HW2 AMS 2.05 without a kernel. I've been using it since it came out. I did have to install a patch, although in hind sight I probably wouldn't have had to. Any program I use that exceeds the 24Kbyte limit has a starter progam to bypass it. T. Nussbaumer's picviewer 1.01 does a very good job with graphics. View 1.1.1 (ticalc.org misc 89 files)is a better text viewer than Txtrider and the one that comes with TICTex. It has word find and a word wrapping feature that can be disabled. I used Doors for the first week I had my TI89. After a dozen freeze-up and re-sets I canned it and haven't missed it since.
