The Incredible Adventure

Sean Kelly has released the first version of The Incredible Adventure, a new side-scroller for the TI-89. It features 4-level grayscale, many enemies, variable speeds, an external editor, and the ability to bring world peace. Err, scratch that last one. Anyway, go check it out. You can also visit his webpage if you're just dying for more information.

Sean, a question: What version of the TIGCCLIB and the compiler are you using? When you recompile it with TIGCC 0.90 and TIGCCLIB 2.31 it crashes, when the first enemies should come into the screen in level atlantis.
I have compiled it with: tigcc -O2 -Wall -W -o tia scrollmain8.c
I have tracked down the problem in routine doEnemy in the calls to vertBounce and checkEVCollect. The x and y values which are used to redraw the enemies are invalid (Sprite8 do no clipping).
BTW: The sourcecode can be easily optimized to remove the flickers during scrolling.
If you are interested on how to perform this send me a short mail and I explain you the details (thomas.nussbaumer@gmx.net).
Nevertheless: Nice game and best of it: open source ;-)

Very nice game - it shows a lot of promise =) I had to admit it was quite a surprise when I was screenshotting last night! I have to mention, though, that another program also deserves the same attention, and that's Edouard Siha Arceluz and Julien Sabatier's TGV Text Viewer for the TI-89. Its multifont support and many other edible features gives it QUITE an edge over TxtRider. Check it out, it rocks =)
...My only regret is that I took Spanish instead of French in High School... I can't read the documentation (ie instructions for formatting tags) =(

I know this is probably a stupid question but how did he do the movies for his games? I mean, are they in basic or asm or what? I'd download the files to look, but I don't have an 89 or a plain 83 to use.

I have tested this using a hw2 with hardware patch, ams 2.03 with universal os 1.14 and discovered 2 fatal bugs. 1, if you run the game 2 times in a row it will screw up the calc. The other is when I make it to the 2nd screen it locks up and gives me an address error. I tested it using the atlantis world. Just thought the author might want to know.
