There were several choices for the 89 but WFRNG was the only choice for the 86. Logically, all the 86 owners would have voted for WFRNG. Nick benefited from the "split vote." (as did Clinton in 1992)

two things here:
1. no one is RELEASING anything cool for the ti-86.
2. the ti-86 is dead!!!

What do you base this assumption on? The 86 is an excellent mid-range calc for those who want something better than the 83+ but don't have the $150 for the 89.

Another reason for buying an 86 instead of an 89 is that the 89 can't be used on AP tests or the ACT.

His assumption is probably based on the fact that virtually all the news articles are about programs for the 89.

POTM isn't about who has the best program but which program gets the most attention.

If TI-Minesweeper deserves a POTM more than the Flash Info, that's an insult. But seeing as Street Fighter won even when nobody could get it to run for more than 5 minutes without a crash, I think that all these people voting for these programs with no knowledge of which program is truly better other than hype _deserve_ to be insulted for their stupidity.

I really don't understand anything, Scott. I read your posts in the TI-News topic, defending TI and their rights. And now you defend that ROM hacking flash info... weird.

Perhaps that Flash info is very useful for you, Scott, but form me it's an incomplete and non-working job useless for 99% of the people... So I prefer a classic game like Minesweeper. Besides it has my graphics, of course ;)

I was against the ROM _pirating_, not hacking. If you own a calc, by all means, hack at its ROM all you want. I loved Archive Utility =)

I have nothing against minesweeper - it's on my calc - it's just that I favor the technical achievement over the nothing-revolutionary-but-still-fun. It's the same thing with, say, tetris - I love the game, but I'd rather see the person who performs the greater feat get the credit. I was just complaining about how people voting for POTM typically aren't informed enough to make a "good" choice, especially when a version of street fighter that isn't stable wins.

And hey, Hamilton was an elitist, and his face is on our money, so he couldn't have been too bad =)

Of course Nick winning is a joke! duh...
anyway, I can't vote for a program for the 89! agh! it would feel like i was being unfair to the others! damn...
