TI-Chess Team and a Slew of Releases
Posted by Nick on 15 July 2000, 02:22 GMT

TI-Minesweeper v1.00Choice. Absolutely choice. Thomas Nussbaumer sent me a letter via carrier pigeon recently to inform me of not one, not three, not seventeen, but TWO simultaneous game releases by the TI-Chess Team.

TI-Minesweeper v1.00, for the 89 and the 92 Plus (see the delicious screenshot up there), features absolutely mad grayscale and incredibly straightforward gameplay. It seems to be almost exactly like the version on Windows. Now, you can take the greatness of Minesweeper with you. :)

Furthermore, TI-Con45 v1.01 also exists for the 89 and the 92 Plus. This is an (equally high-quality) clone of Connect Four. Not that connect4, I'm talking about the game! (har har har) At any rate, it's very good. I'm not one to judge, because I really do stink at Connect Four, but it looks like someone who would be skilled at Connect 4 would enjoy... okay, I'm rambling again.

Keep your eyes and ears (and other sensory organs) open for a new version of TI-Chess in the coming weeks from these people as well. Fantastically amazing!

One would begin to wonder if the *deliciously wonderful* Nick Disabato would ever run out of his *peculiarly distinctive* adjectives for his news postings. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, or smell...?

"LANGUAGE.... IS.... NOT.... A.... VERB!!!"
- Quite from a certain "Star Wreck" book that I found funny for no particular reason. I should try to language my ideas to aid your understanding of that better.

I sincerely hope there is a series of books called Star Wreck.
Otherwise, I am not responsible for any flames I may cause you or do myself if it is indeed Star Trek that you were knocking.
It sounds like it is Star Wreck, because noone in Star Trek or any of its spinoffs is *that* stupid, except possibly a nervous Ferengi talking to a Klingon.

Can I borrow those for the next two years?

I got a 3 on European History :(
1 point higher, and I would have gotten an A in the class by teacher intervention.

Here too?!!

Are we going to hear about those puny US tests, that probably don't require much of those taking them, on the entire site?

Väx upp för fan!

Looks good. Maybe you should have graphic sets, if you don't have already. You could choose which graphics scheme you want. (I don't mean Monochrome/Grayscale, I mean different character sets and fonts and stuff.)

Sure! But it's not easy to do a goodlooking pieceset. This is the first grayscale pieceset we've done and I think it should be enough in the meantime. Contributions are also well accepted ;-)

Anyway you can always stick with the old b/w graphics... Nahh again!!

So how big is the whole thing now? Last time I talked with Tom, he said that adding the hashtables added a lot of memory to the total file size... I can imagine how all these graphics must have done so as well.

Yeah, me too. If someone wants to buy me an 89 I would make a cool game for it. Seriously, I would.
