TI-GCC Library v2.1, AUTOmatix 3D v0.01, Wormy v1.0
Posted by Nick on 27 June 2000, 22:33 GMT

Yesterday found me with innumerable updates and minor tweakings at some other site.
Because of this, here's some belated news!

Sebastian Reichelt, frequently known for correcting the poor German skills of the ticalc.org staff (despite the fact that Chris majors in German), has released a Lotus Turbo Challenge-esque program for the 89 called AUTOmatix 3D v0.01. For those who are concerned, source is also available. This program is in demo form right now, but it should be completed soon. It looks very good, even for being in an early stage.

TI-GCC Library v2.1 by Zeljko Juric is now out. Once again, I got the customary 10 page email from him (hint hint, programmers *g*) outlining, in detail, all the new features. Some of the more notable ones include nine major bugfixes, enhancements to the documentation, and a few minor tweaks to the compiler.

Sam Heald ported Wormy v1.0 to the 82. This is a port of Matt Shepcar's incredibly 31337 game. Aside from the *ahem* cryptic readme, this game is really good. Check it, yo!

Automatix looks good for a demo. Just needs some fine-tuning on AMS 2.03.

Looks like "eleet" to me. "Elite" sounds close enough, so you're probably right. Anyways, how do you translate from numbers into normal English? I hadn't seen this before I joined the TI community three or four months ago.

Yeah, go to nickd.org to find the explanation. (seems that we just can't escape shameless plugs for nick's website?). Anyays, he does a good job of explaining it and it should be somewhere on his main page. Look carefully. Or just do a keyword search for "elite". Tell me if that helps; I think that is where I found that info.

It would be better to search for "/<-31337," (minus comma and quotation marks) becuase it crops up about 9.999e999 times in the howto :)

BTW: I'm moving all of June's updates into the archive at the end of the month, so it'll no longer be on the front page.

You have been warned.

I started reading it, but I don't want to know any more. Sorry. :-(

BTW: Now that my monitor is behind my keyboard again, you may flame me for any spelling mistakes I make.

Oh, and I should make a site-wide search for "becuase." :-)

37 hits, but I could find only one page where you did it. Lucky you!

You changed the spelling mistake in the news item, too, didn't you? I thought there had been one.

It's pretty simple really. I thought most people knew this..although I guess when I first saw it I didn't see it. Basically, if you're an 31337 h4x0r then you'll replace all letters that look like numbers with numbers. For example:

i=1
l=1
3=e
5=s
7=t
0=0

I think that's it (or what I can think of..). Be careful with i's and l's in the same sentence, though, because they both have 1's..I sometimes just have one as letters in those words. There are also a few words like ph34r and h4x0r and 31337 that are subjet to interpretations, as they don't completely spell the word. As long as they sound the same, though...

I love aerox but its just a demo, and it was placed in the archives a long time ago, i hope it gets updated in the future....bt back to AUTOmatix i like how it has a RadRacer feel to it, do u plan to add different views in ur next releases?

I totally agree. Only I already have two projects going on right now.

If the screen flickers on HW2, I probably can't do anything against that, because I use Zeljko's grayscale routines that come with the TI-GCC Library. I can promise you, though, that this game will be continued until it is really done. I do plan to have two different views, one where you see the car from behind and one where you look through the window of your car (unlike Lotus, where you always see your car from behind).

Completed soon? I didn't say that. :-) First of all, I'll be on vacation for the next four weeks, where I'll do absolutely nothing. I also have two projects, for example my way more important TI-GCC IDE. But yes, I'll complete it anytime soon.

On a sidenote, after many email exchanges especially with Xavier Vassor, I uploaded TI-GCC 0.7 today, with a new Windows-style setup wizard, and the next versions of the IDE and the linker (also includes TIGCCLIB 2.1. That's probably going to be the really important program, compared to AUTOmatix 3D. :-)

Oh, and Nick: Thanks for putting this up. I received two very contrary emails, one from you and one from Nathan Haines. Just seemed kind of strange to me. :-)

Yes. Why not? Xavier agreed to do so, and since it is in fact a Windows program, I think it makes sense. Now that it's up you can see for yourself.
