AMS v2.03 Language Localization Update
Posted by Nick on 18 February 2000, 02:53 GMT
Remember that unter-AMS for the TI-89 that came out a long time ago.. you know, version 2.03? Are you French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, Danish, Hungarian, Norwegian, Finnish or Swedish? Are you from the Netherlands? I'm not! But if you are, you may be interested to know that TI has released new Language Localization add-on packs for AMS v2.03. 89 and 92 Plus versions are snaggable. Finally, something that makes AMS v2.03 worthwile for some of us :) Seriously, it's great to see TI doing something like this. The language barrier has been a major problem in the calculating world, and this could get a lot more people who don't speak English interested in TI's. Confidential to TI-News: You rock my surburban world.

Well I'm from The Netherlands, but I can't say I like this. It's probably just a crappy translation. Well, this is definitely NOT translated:

TI jerked me around! I was developing a program that would change the language on the computer, recompile it, and send it to the calculator in the different language. I download the new language paks, and lo and behold, what I spent a month working on was changed by TI! Now that happens on the calculator, not the PC!
Here's the problem - TI promised me that they weren't looking into it! Not that a corporation's word means anything...but still!!!
