Asm Ion Teacher by Chris Dietz
Posted by Nick on 30 January 2000, 04:00 GMT

Chris Dietz of BAPG has created an interesting new file. This file contains a series of five tutorials to help the newbie programmer get acquainted a bit with ASM programming for the Ion shell. Asm Ion Teacher has been created in Windows' .hlp format and it is very easy to navigate. Chris will hopefully have the opportunity to build onto this file with more tutorials and information in the future.

Why does everybody talk about a "slow week"??? The people at ticalc.org can't make news from nowhere!!! Sometimes stuff simply doesn't happen - that isn't their fault - we users are lucky there is anyone dedicated to make updates at all! - btw plz don't take offense - this is just an observation

(If you are wondering why I seperated some of the 'nooooo...' is because no word is supposed to be over 40 chars long, or you get an error.)

I am 14, have no life, and when I get a chance, play with my calculator!
Here is me and my date at the movies:
>Kara: What do you do for a living?
>Me: I work at ticalc.org for a living.
>Kara: Oh? What kind of site is that?
>Me: Well... *Blush* Its... *Pause* A CALCULATOR SITE!)@#*%)#%^)#$%(!)@#(%(@
>Kara: Uh... *Pause* I don't know you anymore.
>Me: But, But... PLEASE! Its just a hobby!!!!
>Kara: I got to go... I got to wash my goldfish...
>Me: Nooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....
>Kara: Um, Bye.
>Me: Noooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooo.....
>Kara: ...
>Me: Nooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooo.....
>Kara: You are gonna run out of breath for saying NO for so long!
>Me: Nooooooooooooo *Cough* *Gasp* ooo-oo..ooooo *Choke*... ooooo-oo...
>Kara: Um, my mom is here. I think you can survive this...
>Me: *Choke* *Gargle* *Gasping* Please... Its only a calculator!
>Kara: Go play ball on a freeway!
>Me: Oh well. I guess its just me and my calculator now! Lets go watch a movie.
>Calculator:
>Me: What movie do you want to watch?
>Calculator:
>Me: Well!??!
>Calculator:
>Me: ARG! *Throws calculator down on the ground*
>Calculator: *The screen reads:* MEM CLEARED

Hmmm....
I don't think you ripped off enough of the Microsoft _copyrighted_ website. You should just upload their entire root directory on to your page...

Finally an asm tutorial specifically for ion. I've been looking for that like everywhere. Thanks Chris for fulfilling my lifelong dream of learning assembly for the 83+.

Well, Chris *did* copy me. Just kidding (in a sense)--he did, but I don't have any hard feelings (<--Chris). Chris and I live in the same city (surpringly, we just found out), and I have been helping him somewhat. But, like in the news article, it IS being expanded based on what I have already made. Chris and I are really changing things and adding a ton of stuff. There are more specific tutorials with a better written format and layout. It is also being called "IG", or IonGuru (hehe...get the connection?). I am sure it will make another front page news article (hehe!) when we get done!

Thats it,
Matt H.

P.S. Want to see anything covered? (seriously--matt@basm.org)

Why it it that the tutorial seems corrupted when I download it?

I'll try to use Explorer instead of Netscape and see if that works...
