Tinux v0.8 - English Version by Clem Vasseur
Posted by Nick on 28 December 1999, 20:46 GMT
Clem Vasseur has translated Tinux v0.8 to English. This is (now for some blindingly obvious logic) helpful to all of us who speak English! Tinux was created by Olivier Borowski. You can find the home page of Tinux here.

Yea cool, an english translation (french ain't that hard, and you don't really have to read it all). But my point is: does this have to be a featured program and even a NEWS-item?!? I mean it's just a translation...

That's strange. I have a 1.6 86 and it's working fine for me, well, at least under VTI. I haven't loaded it on my real 86 yet. But, I haven't had any problems with scrolling or the cursor. I find its movement smooth, controlled, and fast.
I do agree that this is quite large for a shell, but the enhancements over some of the other shells are nice. But, I think it should have some sort of password protection/memory protection built-in too like Rascall does, which is what I like using.
BTW, how do you use another background pic? Is it just an 86 image file?
