Compatible Games With AMS v2.0x
Posted by Nick on 12 December 1999, 02:10 GMT

AMS ErrorTim Buckingham has confirmed the compatibility of four ASM games with TI's new AMS v2.03. Three of these were origninally on Ti.Fr and the fourth appeared (with the other three) on Tim's site, TI-News. The four programs, now available for download from our archives, are Phoenix v3.9, JezzBall v1.7, DStar89 v1.1 and Dr. Mario v1.0. Anybody with a program that functions correctly under AMS v2.0x should email me.

If you have problems with these programs, please detail the error (whether it be the calculator locking up or the program just not functioning) and email me. Thanks! :)

Update (Nick): Elliot Olney sent me this copy of Tetris 89 v0.71 that supposedly works under AMS v2.03. This is legitimate, AFAIK; his email says that "It was recompiled, different than the first one released." Several people verified it, and I found out that h4x0r had recompiled it. According to h4x0r, "The tetris that was distributed earlier was somehow corrupt. I just recompiled it and sent it to the A89 list."

Another Update (Nick): CloroxFour@aol.com wrote to me that "The program Clock ... will actually work and run right when it is called from the launch() program! It's interesting, because I didn't think a program like clock would even work, but the program will crash your calc if it is not called with launch()."

Press [2nd] + [LEFT] + [RIGHT] + [ON] :)

The Kernel (0.6) does not currently operate correctly with HW 2 calcs. It should be fixed a soon as I send some information to Olivier Lesteven (author of Kernel 0.6) he can attempt to fix it :(

could you please notify the author of kernel about fixing the problem of having HW v2.00 and AMS v2.03 as soon as possible?

I have the same problem. Could somebody please fix the problem? I need kernel v0.6 to run for HW v2.00 and AMS v2.06. None of the five games work for me and the calc freezes.

Ok first upgrade to 2.03, then send Kernel 0.6, Launch, Graphlib (from DoorsOS Beta 2), gray4lib, util, Tetris, Phoenix, DStar, Jezzball, and Dr Mario.

Or you could just download the file my URL leads to :)

It has all the files you need to play the games that work. (please note that these ONLY work on HW 1 TI-89s, sorry HW 2 TI-89/92+)

Go to the about screen, where it displays the AMS version, and if it doesn't say "Hardware version 2.00" then you have HW1.

I dont think so at this time but TI has come out with a win95 black link cable that plugs into your serial and sells for $14. This works with the new GRAPH-LINK software

I have WinTrans8x 4.0 and it gives me an "unrecognized file type" error when i try to send an .83u file to the calculator. I think you are incorrect. Does anyone know of software to send the new rom over a homemade parrallel link?

huh ! it doesn't work at all !!!
but what is the difference between this 89u and a tib ??
I was able to flash my calc to ams 1.05 with the tool included in archive utility, but what can I do with 89u ???
It is the same with a language upgrade : the french upgrade for ams2 is a .89k prog. !!!
Thanks to the first who manages to send the ams over a parallel link !!!!

If someone has an idea...

Quick question. Will any of this work on the 92 Plus (hard ware version 1)? If I send it using the 89 graphlink software (which works with the 92 plus) will the programs work just in a smaller area of the screen.

and another question.......if I'm correct ams version 2.03 is needed to have flash apps for the 89 and 92 plus right? well if this is true then why did TI release two flash apps for the 89 and 92 plus a few weeks before the ams 2.03 came out?
How very odd.

I am not sure as to the progs. I will be trying them as soon as I finish writing. ams2.03 will work on a 92+ with HW1. I am using it on a TI-92 with a plus module. Also, go to the TI site (www.ti.com/calc) and download the correct AMS and link software. TI has updated graphlink software for the 92+ as well as the AMS2.03. TI89 stuff will not work with the 92+. If I misunderstood, I am sorry. My apoligies.
