Joltima 83+ anyone? (now THAT'S wishful thinking!)

Not to sound ignorant (even though I am of assembly/flash apps) but what could this mean for 83+ users?

Well, its mostly designed for the programmer, and has things to help them out (key values, hex editor, etc). But it can also be used by the average user to do a variety of things. For example:
-you can enabled lowercase in TIOS
-enable drawing in large text on the graph screen
-lock alpha on
-enable fast circle drawing
-edit assembly programs
-unprotect programs
-rename programs
and there's plenty more. I idea of Calcsys is to let you play around with, and explore the internals of your calculator.

You can not use the application in VTI. You can, however, use the application in TI's 83 Plus Flash Simulator. To do this, you'll need to open calcsys.exe in winzip, extract calcsys.app, and load it into the simulator through normal means.

I hate to be a pain in the ***, but that's why you have the shift key! To do caps lock, hit shift, alpha.

lmao the first thing i did when igot my 83 was to read the damn book......

i was 13 and the most advanced math class i had taken was pre algebra so i didnt understand some of the latter chapters but i still read the damn thing :-Þ

btw, don't flash apps have to be signed by ti itself before they can be used?

Yes, and Calcsys was signed by TI, so there is no problem.

Will there be a "power-on" password tool that resides in flash ROM, even when all bateries are removed?

I am a very HEAVY TI-83+ user. I was just wondering if it would be possible for someone to make a GAME into a FLASH APPLICATION?

Yes it can... And TCPA is doing it! We're currently developing an app called Puzzle Pack. It will include four of our games (Yoshi, Tetris Attack, Pegs, and Block Dude). The benifit of this is that even after the most severe crashes you wil still have all the games in this pack on your calc. And you won't have to have ION on your calc either. We hope this will be done soon!!

I've wondered why ti-83+'s don't lose their archived memory after a reset but 89's do...anybody know why?

We haven't evolved to the version 2.00 level yet. :)

I was also wondering if someone could write a program that would allow you to make a program that would be embedded in the ROM (sort of like Archive Utility). This would allow you to make a program that could NOT be messed up (unless you reinstalled a ROM version). Like make AS92 or AS89 a part of the ROM. Then you MIGHT be able to store your work into a part of ROM so when a crash occurs, you do not loose your work. This is just an idea, but I could be wrong. It might not be possible. Any comments?

Now, I now this program is essentially for assembly programmers. I would really like to learn assembly, but I am having trouble. This application makes no sense to me whatsoever. I have read the .txt file included, but it still makes no sense to me. I would just like to do those things someone said above about make lowercase, faster circles, large text on graph screen. I cannot find those things anywhere.

Start Calcsys, and choose the System Flags option. Click next seven times and then choose number 2 (get/send). Press 3 (lower case) so that it shows a 1 on the far right. Now lowercase is enabled (press alpha twice to type it). Press clear, and click next until you get to the screen where number 1 is plotflags 3. Choose it, then make number 4 (fastcirc) a 1. Now, when you draw circles directly on the graphscreen (but not from within a basic prog) it will draw faster. The large font on graphscreen flag is under font flags (number $32) and is bit 2.
