United-TI and TI Story Announcements
Posted by Ryan on 18 June 2012, 19:12 GMT
During our most recent news hiatus, some sizeable, "fireworks-and-balloons-and-candy" events have transpired that
are of high significance to TI fans and enthusiasts. Firstly, the wonderful United-TI forums have been preserved in
archival format, having been folded-in to
Cemetech. This move towards preserving a valuable facet of programming history is to be highly commended as
United-TI is a virtual treasure-trove of insightful, serious know-how in text form.
On a related note, if you find yourself curious about the rich history of TI calc programming and its community,
you're in luck. The ambitious TI Story has launched
with a goal of facilitating "a better understanding and greater appreciation for the TI community." Been in the
community for a while? Take a stroll down memory lane, reflecting upon the great achievements of programmers of yore.
You might be familiar with my
beliefs regarding the richness and importance of the community and its history, and both of these sites
receive my commendations for doing their respective parts in both its preservation and exploration.

Thanks, Ryan! Yup, we are proud to have taken over management of UnitedTI and its archives; note that http://unitedti.org and related links will still bring you to the right place, something I hope to maintain for as long as possible. Since we are maintaining the UnitedTI members database as well as the posts/forums database, you can use your UnitedTI login credentials to link your Cemetech and UnitedTI accounts together.

Great to see this in the news.
I've been myself quite impressed with TI-Story and I would like to ask everybody to add their knowledge to it so it will grow. :)
