Omnimaga Programming Contest 2011
Posted by Ryan on 16 July 2011, 21:35 GMT

If you had not yet heard, the fine folks over at Omnimaga have been taking submissions for a contest involving puzzle- and platformer-genre games coded using the Axe Parser. Submissions have now closed for this particular segment of their 2011 series of programming contests, leaving us with a total of 10 submissions. All 10 submissions can be obtained from the pertinent thread (located here) and will hopefully find a good home here within the ticalc.org archives as well. The entries all appear to be outstanding, and the authors have put a lot of heart into their software, so take this opportunity to congratulate all of them on a job well done.

I was under the impression that we don't feature files and programs unless they are submitted and approved into our archives?

I suppose that I conceptualize this news feature as being about the contest itself (in the same vein as the URL attached to this comment) as opposed to explicitly being a software feature, as no specific program or file was mentioned/featured in this post.

To me it seemed that a program feature was more when it was added to the list at http://www.ticalc.org/archives/ files/featured.html . There was even a time when a program could get featured there, but not get a front page news article (like Final Fantasy: Tales of Magic v1.5).

Well, IMO, you did it right to feature a contest and its results, even if some (all ?) of the resulting files were not (yet ?) uploaded to ticalc.org :)

No reason to post that response here, seeing as you are staff you could have just messaged Ryan about it personally.

I was under the impression that Nikky looks for an excuse to stop Omnimaga from being featured anywhere.
