 It's not exactly easy to get at the article text, but the Today show has an article on a Tennessee college student whose calculator stopped a bullet for her. She encountered an armed mugger who grabbed her cell phone and fired at her. Fortunately, the shot missed, instead hitting her purse. Her TI-83 Plus (along with some other items in her purse) took the hit and stopped the bullet, saving her life. |  |

I think we should all have a moment of silence for the brave caculator that lost it's life saving this woman.

Note: this article dates back in 2008, but it doesn't really matter much, since nobody have posted it on calc sites/channels before TI-BANK did this week.
 I was shockedy when I saw the calc saved that poor girl life. I would hate to get attacked like this. I'm not sure how I would react if it suddently happened to me.
