Michael Vincent Retires from ticalc.org

For several weeks I have been waiting for an appropriate moment in calculator news to announce my retirement as ticalc.org news editor. Now that such news has arrived, I shall retire as news editor effective at noon tomorrow. During my six years as a ticalc.org staff member, I always felt privileged to be a participant in this wonderful community. I have now owned graphing calculators and visited ticalc.org for more than half of my life, a time which I shall always cherish for its friendships, intellectual challenges, and limitless learning. There have been too many calculator-related memories to count, from late-night IRC chats in #tcpa to being featured on Slashdot (twice!), founding the Graphing Calculator Club in my high school, and of course writing news articles about the best of our community. I hope that you have enjoyed reading my articles (even if the Voyage 400 is not real) and perhaps downloaded a few of my programs. Most importantly, I thank all of the programmers and users, past and present, without whom there would be no news or even ticalc.org.
I no longer have the free time necessary to be an effective news editor, and I must honestly confess that my enthusiasm for the daily news search has waned over the past several months. It is therefore in the best interest of the community as well as myself that I move on to other things. While I will no longer be releasing new programs or news articles, I intend to at least lurk in the community and perhaps work on miscellaneous tasks for ticalc.org as I am able. Thank you for all of your support through the years.
Update (October 29): It seems I'm unable to completely retire, as I've made some news posts since this announcement and worked on some programming projects. I suppose I'm only semi-retired. Calculators forever!
