2008 POTY Voting Opens
Posted by Michael on 17 December 2008, 03:38 GMT
This year's POTY voting is now open. Go vote for your favorite 68k program. All programs featured in 2008 are eligible to win the ticalc.org Program of the Year award in their category. Since we only had two this year (the cutoff is December), the voting is even simpler than usual. The winner will be announced in January and will receive a special screenshot. You can find more information at the POTY webpage.
And yes, ticalc.org is thawing back to life. Look for more activity in 2009.

Congratulations to TI-Freakware for having won a 2nd POTY in a row. Altough they won by default now I think these two entries are incredibly good and if they had to compete with last year entries it would have been a quite big competition.
I think next year will see more programs featured though, seeing the larger amount of projects under developpement right now on all sites. If ticalc.org finally decide to feature old programs that should have been featured like Contra 83, Robo War for the TI-82 and IndestructoTank in the same fashion than with Blinded By The Dark and xLIB Bowling, this could add more competition.

Will there be a POTY vote for the TI-83 family? That's where most of the activity is and there have been plenty of great programs posted this year.
Also, how are candidates chosen?

I had been wondering whether there would be a POTY at all this year. 2008 has been the slowest news season ever in ticalc.org's entire history.
