Magnus Dies; ticalc.org in Trouble
Posted by Michael on 1 April 2008, 17:45 GMT
It is with great pain that we are forced to announce the death of our beloved editor-in-chief, Magnus Hagander. Magnus' skill at computer administration, love of calculators, and Swedish humor will be missed. During a sailing trip last month in the North Sea, Magnus was fishing when he was attacked and eaten by a North Sea shark. His body has not and probably will never be found. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
We must also sadly announce that since Magnus was responsible for server administration and in fact oversaw the physical location of the ticalc.org server and its hosting facility, we have no way to recover the server nor do we have the permissions to pay the ticalc.org hosting bill. On April 30, the network bandwidth will be disconnected and we will be unable to continue ticalc.org. We are currently researching ways to get all of the archives and pages off of the server and attempt to find another server and hosting in another location. We will keep you updated on the progress.
Update: As the red border indicates, this was a fake news article. Please do not e-mail us offering to host the website or copy files.
