Posted by Michael on 6 December 2006, 20:01 GMT

Once again, it is time for the ticalc.org Program of the Year awards! All programs featured in 2006 are eligible to win the prestigious POTY award. During the month of December we will be posting weekly surveys with programs being grouped by calculator model. Vote each week for your favorite program. Winners will be posted in January and will receive a special screenshot on their file information pages.

More information can be found on the POTY webpage. The 83/83+ POTY survey is currently open, so vote!

So excited to get a first post that you couldn't spend 5 seconds proofing the one sentence you responded with?

If by four "seconds," you mean "minutes," then yes, you're correct.

Seems that there aren't as many big hitters this year, but it should be fun anyway.

I agree, last year we had to have two different votes for the 68k programs because there were so many of them :D

Just wondering - are Unix utilities going to be included this year since KTIGCC and TiLP2 got featured?

That'd make sense, so they won't do it.

TiEmu 2 won last year being a Cross Platform Emulator. So I guess it would only make sense to put TilP-II, TiEmu3 and KTIGCC in for vote.

I think neither TiLP 2 nor TiEmu 3 should qualify, they're just updated versions of existing featured programs. Otherwise, TIGCC 0.95 should have qualified too 2 years ago! So KTIGCC should win this year. ;-p

I wasn't aware that any decent programs were released for the 83+ series this year.

oh? why wouldn't realsound work on an 83+ if there's enough free memory?

The 83+SE has timers as well. It's the 83+ that doesn't.

dunno. I have an 83+SE and 84+SE so that's all I can try it on.

(ok, and 89ti but I don't know how to work it yet...other than [2nd][right][left][on] to clear it when it does something I don't understand)

Tiny CarZ is quite excellent, Slippy and Pearls are ok, but there are way too many puzzle games out there already.... being an 84+ owner I was biased towards DAWG (dont really need it, but its cool), Real Sound (quite pwnsome, but 't would be better if it interfaced with usb8x), and msd8x (now I can transfer files between my calculator and the school computers without installing any software).

Re: Re: Re: 2006 POTY Voting Opens

that would make realsound better but I think there were some processing issues with that theory.

msd8x /is/ the best of them because it opens up so many possibilities.
