TI Knowledge Base
Posted by Michael on 10 May 2006, 05:25 GMT

Recently, it was brought to my attention that there exists a wonderful resource on the TI website: The knowledge base. While TI has had this previously, in the past few months they have added a great deal of useful information. Examples include required battery voltage, order of calculator release, a statement of the policy regarding ROMs and emulators, and juicy tidbits like the algorithm used to calculate the inverse of a matrix. Some of you may already be aware of this knowledge base, but it appears to me to be underutilized. This is also the only place on the TI website to find information about older or discontinued calculator models.

Yeah, I would have to agree. The knowledge base doesn't give any data or link to tutorials of how to program in assembly. It doesn't even tell you its processor...

I'm surprised, after all the thick programming manuals and stuff they put out for the 83+...

Yeah, really. Those tiny pamphlets that came with the thing. I'd expected a book like with my 83+, but no, I got 3 tiny pamphlets on how to turn my new calc. on. AARGH!!

So I got a friend with an 89 to give me his manual.

There was a cd-rom, too, but that mentioned how to get to the programing window and didn't even mention the command "disp".

Yeah, then there were the ones they completely ignored, like the 86 and v200.

In the knowledgebase? Yes some of the grammar is poor, but it's not quite that bad.

Go read some of the posts at applematters.com, and then tell me that TI's grammar is bad.

Hey, are you trying to imply that non-US students use bad grammar? I'm offended! ;-)

I was trying to specifically target Indian and Asian (which I guess covers Indian as well).

one day there will only be one race, but until then, asians are the best...unless they state that they are the best. thats just annoying

There are Indians with very good English grammar. Don't generalize.

Yet, curiously, none of them work for microsoft. Serisouly, you have to talk really slowly when trying to activate windows.

I've seen non-native English speakers who are so good I would never know it wasn't their first language, and also native English speakers who write like crap. So it all depends.

...but your grammer isn't all that good.

specifically to target. Don't split the infinitive.
