I suspect that if the archives aren't being updated, the filearchivers are reorganizing an 83+ BASIC folder or 2.

you don't sound stupid! The 73 hasn;t been updated in ages! I guess they're doing a run-through update of their OS's. 83+, 84+, 73, etc. and all close to each other.

I have a ti83 with os version 1.19 and I do not know anything wrong with it. Could you be more specific?

I doubt that (no flash)...then again, I would love it if they would release a TI-86+ Gold Edition while they are in an updating mood.
256KB RAM, 768KB flash (256KB of the flash used for the OS as now, leaving 512KB user-available), mini-USB port, faster processor (however fast the 83+SE runs), same LCD as was used in the ones with EOS 1.4 (since it supports my color hack better than ROM 1.6 :))...that would be one cool calculator. Then I might even get around to finishing making the TI-81 ROM run on it (but do not expect me to ever post it, for obvious reasons...maybe I could release a patch & loader program, though).
The TI-86 already has an "app" system in place...all they would need to do to make a TI-86+ is add some flash & make it work like plain archive on the other calculators (though the Gold Edition would be a bit harder).

TI-86+? Eh, that's kinda a dead line.

...but TI could revive it, which would make a whole lot more sense than releasing a new OS for the TI-73, which looks like a four-function next to the 86, 83/84/+/SE, and 89.

True, true. It almost seems like they should start something entirely new.

A new TI-86 would be a good idea. They are, after all, the easiest to program and control, given the memory-mapped LCD, sqrt programs (which no other calc has), a page of ROM devoted to ASM programs, and tons of RAM....

I remember the days TI boasted the 86 as the ultimate scientific graphing calculator, for those who are more interested in science and engineering and the TI-83 wasn't good enough and the TI-89 was too much.

Yeah, the 86 would be absolutely perfect if they added more RAM (it would be easy to do - there's plenty of space left with their absolute addressing scheme, it might break a few badly-written programs that rely on the absolute-to-physical address mapping wrapping around when it hits the end, but who wants to use those anyways?), maybe some flash (but only as a "backup area" where the contents of user RAM would be saved when the calc was turned off, not like on the 83 series to avoid the annoying issues of archiving/unarchiving and garbage collects), and changed some small annoying things like how imaginary numbers are handled.

What is wrong with the imaginary handling?

That reminds me...they should also add quaternion support. :)
