New TI Online Store
Posted by Michael on 15 January 2005, 03:47 GMT

TI has redesigned their Online Store. Aside from a further invasion of the hideous orange color scheme, the new store is finally a true store. That is, all free apps have been removed and moved to the main site. Commercial flash applications remain along with accessories and other TI products. Registration is still required in order to download the free flash applications. You can find app links from the "My Pickup Window" link in the upper right corner of every education.ti.com page.

For some reason, the new store looks like it's half-finished. I thought that at first it was still under construction, but after a few days it hasn't changed; perhaps it's just me. I also don't like how we still have to register to download free applications. However, at least you can now link to an item in the store without being intercepted by that old "Select your country" page.

Yea, so better stock up before it's all gone! You can never have enough rubber grips for your precious calc...

Yea the first thing I did when I got my TI 89 was carefully peel off all the rubber grips and remove all of the adhesive. Then I superglued them back on using a good glue. It has been more than a year, and so far none have fallen off.

In 1999 I had the rubber grips come off my TI-86, so I called 1-800-TI-CARES and they sent me a new cover free of charge (or maybe for a nominal shipping fee? I don't remember).

Seen under the '83+ Silver Edition Accessories' page:
Red slide case
Note: This slide case does not fit the TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, or TI-89 Titanium.
