Bomber Dude Released for 68k Calcs
Posted by Michael on 28 November 2004, 15:14 GMT

[Bomber Dude v0.95]Jean-François Geyelin has released his latest masterpiece: Bomber Dude for the 89, 89 Titanium, 92+, and Voyage 200. The goal is to drop bombs and destroy enemies, but there are a myriad of options and bonuses available. For example, if you walk over a skull, there are a variety of fun random illness such as "lead foot" and hyperactivity that can develop. Each has a unique effect on your moving or bomb dropping capabilities. If that wasn't fun enough, there's a multiplayer mode as well.

By "it works" you mean that it actually works, i.e., that the whole program, not just startup and simple features, works?

Everything works so far. But I didn't try multiplayer yet.

I used a beta on titanium and it worked, except for USB link but very few games have that.

Does that mean that *some* games do have USB support?
I've not seen any.

Yes:
Kevin Kofler's Backgammon is the only program currently supporting the USB link mode.

There ARE, however; a few Programs [not games] that utilize the USB-port...

Not officially, and in fact I must say that as a TIGCC maintainer, I'd never accept the kind of ugly hacks Backgammon uses to get access to the USB routines into TIGCCLIB, not even if they come from me. :-)

The problem is that I have yet to find a way to access these USB routines which is not extremely likely to break when TI updates the AMS. The routines are not in the jump table unfortunately. :-( And given the way Backgammon finds them, it is very likely that I'll have to update it for the next AMS version. This is acceptable for my own programs (I know I'll probably have to fix Backgammon when TI updates their AMS, and I'll do so), but it is not acceptable for TIGCCLIB.

I'd like to make a program for doing IRC using the TI Keyboard to type with, and of course that means I'd need USB linking to the computer. Any possibility you could hook me up with what you did so I can attempt to do this little project? :)

Note that you need to get the "USB Beta 12" in the "Alpha/Beta stuff" section, not the version 2.01. I'm planning to release a 2.02 officially supporting USB soon.

The readme says the AI is bad, but i find it rather good , almost too good on some maps :)

On some maps... I gave up playing against one robot in the classic map because it kept blowing itself up before I could get any decent bonuses.
