TI Releases EZ-Spot TI-84 Pluses
Posted by Michael on 5 November 2004, 13:49 GMT
Texas Instruments has created a new line of calculators specifically designed to reduce thefts of school owned calculators. EZ-Spot Teacher Packs contain TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculators with bright yellow cases. Each calculator also has a yellow slidecase with "school property" inscribed in capital letters. EZ-Spot calculators are sold only to instructional dealers and will cost over $1000 for a pack of ten TI-84+s.

Interesting...I was wondering when they were going to do something like this. I'd say this will make a lot of schools very happy, and a lot of kids very unhappy (no more free calcs).
It's too bad they're only doing this for 84+'s; most schools use 82's and would probably prefer that.
