Blinded by the Dark
Posted by Michael on 29 September 2004, 14:21 GMT

[Blinded by the Dark]Today we're posting about an old program, but one that was suggested by our venerable file archiver Morgan. For the 86, Blinded by the Dark is an action RPG in which the sun has been blocked by a huge black cloud. Only the part of the screen in your "line of vision" is illuminated. Combine this with the normal features of a detailed RPG, and you have the makings of a great game.

In this case, the program was originally missed since I became news editor five days after its release. In the future we may post more of these types of articles during periods of otherwise quiet news activity. However, please don't send e-mails begging to have all of your old programs featured.

Wow, that looks really impressive. I wish i had an 86. Besides the resemblance in the title the theme kind of reminds me of the '92 Infogram hit videogame "ALONE IN THE DARK". That game was really awsome. To bad you can't play it on faster computers. I still keep an old computer just to play that game.

Just a thought but what if featured programs had a link to their artcle? This way you could tell if a program got good reviews, without having to go through all the articles with obsure names trying to find the one about the game in question.

It would still be easier if there was a link.

We could make a news item about the new program I made. I just put it into the queue for loading...

This program lets you create custom songs and play them in a fully-graphical player/editor. It includes such features as graphical menus, fast number to string conversions, graphical user input, and it deletes all variables used in the program. This is in BASIC and uses Omnicalc's play() feature. I think this is worthy to be featured and hopefully it will be... (hint, hint)
