Space Wars: The New Menace

[] A Swiss programming group by the name of GUPM has released a 2-D space shooter, Space Wars: The New Menace. For the 89 only, this elaborate game features 15 weapon systems and 20 levels. They have even created a promotional image for it.

In 5 days, the TI-89Ti will be in my hands ^_^ and I'll be able to try it out...it looks really cool, and there was obviously a lot of effort and time put into it.

I think that there mught be a typo in the article. When I click the GUPM link it offers english and German....no swis available. Are you sure its a Swiss programming group?

Yes, but they speak german. The Swiss speak several different languages. There country has different names in each, so when the Swiss top level domain name was chosen, it had to be based on the latin: Helvetica.

The Swiss speak at least four official languages; of these, german is one. I can't remember any others off the top of my head, though.

This has been out for ages... it's just been recently updated.

Not that I can find anything new in it.

There are still a few bugs, like the contrast changes don't go back to normal when they're done on a HW1 TI89

Yeah, well, all good games still have bugs. Why do you think computer games have so many patches and mods this days? The only way to get around that is to spend years beta testing, and who wants to do that?

There is still a problem with the contrast in v 1.01 ?

on a HW1 TI89, I find that the contrast keeps getting far too low (white), so you have to keep hitting [diamond][+] in the game, or you can never see anything

looking at the screenshots in the promotional imgage kinda remind me of old Atari/NES screenshots on old video game packaging. Anyone else feel the same?
