ticalc.org Reaches 500,000,000 Requests

An epic milestone in the development of ticalc.org was reached today: The 500,000,000th request. That's right, we've now served half a billion requests. Also, during the period from April 1997 to the present, our traffic has totaled 8.43 terabytes. For those of you interested in more such statistics, the Web Server Statistics page has a complete breakdown of our traffic.

We would like to thank you, the users, for bringing ticalc.org to where it is today. We hope to continue to serve the community and reach new levels of success in the future.

It shouldn't...based on the Yearly requests from last year....we'll get that way before the next 7 years.

Not really that amazing, since someone using wget is requesting a LOT of pages ususally. I wgetted the entire TI83+ Ion and Mirage game archives for instance. That's 190 files right there. If someone tried to download the complete site, they would be requesting far more pages.

couple comments about the statistics: What sweet programs were released on September 8th 2003 (or just before that day)? That day has the most downloads...also, that sinusoidal action on the hour of the week statistic is pretty cool...it kinda shows what general time zone (or area) the majority of ticalc members live in... ;)

If you look at the monthly reports, september is always the busiest month, IIRC. Most likely dues to the fact that school is starting for most of us and the teachers surprize the students that they need graphing calcs, then naturally they come year around that time. Just my thoughts.
