We've got a new feature for the newsletter at ticalc.org! This time, you can ask us your (thoughtful and intelligent) questions and we'll try to respond to the best one(s) in our newsletter every month. Anybody who has a question that they'd like to have answered in our newsletter, please email ask@ticalc.org. We'll pick the best and answer them to the best of our abilities in our newsletter. If you want to subscribe to our newsletter, click here. It comes out on the first of every month. Clarification (Eric): To clarify, we're mainly looking for questions about the inner-workings of the site that the ticalc.org staff will be able to answer. We are not looking for questions on how to use a calculator or how to program calculators. If you need help with your calculator, you might try our Help section.

What kinds of questions in particular? I assume it has to be something interesting to the TI community, but it would be good to at least see an example or something.

Not that this has any signifigance, but I just thought I would point out ticalc.org got this idea (most likely) from slashdot.org's "Ask Slashdot" section... (and don't get on my case if they weren't the orginal owners of that idea either!)

This seems to be a cool idea.
Here's my question:
Where can I get a copy of TI-89 v1.00 ROM?
My 89 came with 1.05

My "Experiment"
|

As many have noticed, I posted many, many items realating to the recent "crisis" that was in total opposition to programmers. I would like to tell you all of those statements, ideas, suggestions are the complete opposite of what I actually believe. My "experiment" was to see how idiotic people can be other another's opinion. My results are in outstanding. I have concluded that some people just hate anothers opinion and so flame it or other wise deconstruct it to the very sentence structure only to prove their point right. I feel sorry for everyone who responded to my posts in this experiment. I feel especially sorry for Patrick Davidson who wrote a very long essay on why I was wrong. So what did we learn from this? Well I can't speak for you but you should have learned the following:
-People are biased no matter what they say
-People hate to be wrong
-Some must go to great lengths to prove another's opinion invalid.
-Opinions are opinions. SO what if they are different from your, live with it. No need to write a novel over it.
-Everyone is stupid in some subject or another.
-This site is dedicated to ti calculators so its prone to solicit the "newbies" who only want games and know nothing about calculators.
So, You are asking "Why?" right now, huh? Simple question. Simple answer. To prove a point that as a whole people are dumb but individually people are smart. ( relate this to the 83+ newbies )
You'll here my cries no more. I'll post only funny items from now on.

Does this imply that the ticalc.org staff doesn't know how to use a calculator? :)
PS - If you can't take a joke, don't reply to this comment.

I think its really stupid you guys won't answer any questions relating to CALCULATORS at all. You only want questions relating to the site?
Won't the users get more use out of this feature if the newsletter actually explained how to do something cool with THEIR calculator, instead of telling them some fact about this site which isn't that important in the first place?
Its just my opinion the newsletter should be informative and useful to the user, and not a method of just hyping the site up more.
