Hollywood Gala Draws Unprecedented Celebrity Interest

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - To celebrate the opening of its redesigned Web site, the ticalc.org project hosted a glamorous, star-studded gala on Sunset Boulevard Wednesday evening, attracting the patronage of such high-profile stars as George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. The invitation-only event easily filled the interior of Spago's West Hollywood restaurant, as ticalc.org staff members, convened from as far away as Sweden, rubbed elbows with famous actors and Hollywood persona. Sean Penn and Steve Guttenberg were reportedly turned away at the door; for those lucky celebrities who made the cut, however, an unforgettable evening awaited. Among the more notable attendees who gathered to get an early glimpse at the improved site were Paul Reubens (better known as "Pee Wee" Herman), Cameron Diaz, Jack Nicholson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Steve Allen, Michael Stipe, Helen Hunt, Matthew McConaughey, and David Spade. Leonardo DiCaprio was quoted as saying, "Screw partying, I'm going to a Web site for calculators tonight." Spike Lee could be seen anxiously reloading the site in his web browser, brow glistening as he eagerly awaited the reincarnation of ticalc.org. He called it one of his "joints," but failed to elaborate. Gary Coleman took a rare respite from assaulting "hos" to get a look at the new site's compelling features. All told, the event will surely be classified as one of the year's best, topping even Charlie Sheen's March bash at the Cat and Fiddle. Rumors ticalc.org staff member Nick Disabato departed with "Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart were unconfirmed at press time.

Did you guys use Slash for the new format? For those of you that don't know what this is, it's the source code used for Slashdot.org. I know there is an old version available for download on their. Did you use some variation of this?

Is it just me, or does the new format load slower? Also the preferences I set on the main page don't work (the My NS thingy is still there).

Has anyone else looked at this page with Mozilla 8? I was wondering if I am the only one with slight display problems...

It really looks nice. The old version didn't look quite right with a 1024 x 768 resolution or higher, but this is great. I am also pleased with the cookies. This should work well towards filtering out all of the nonsense posts. I don't know who came up with the Fake News idea, but It seems like a good idea for when things are going slow.
