Kirk Meyer Retires
Posted by Nathan on 20 July 1999, 02:14 GMT

Kirk Meyer, who has been a news editor, our newsletter editor, and our reviews editor, has decided to retire from those positions. He is entering his senior year in high school and will not have time to maintain these areas of ticalc.org. We are grateful for all the effort he has given us during his time in those positions.

Kirk will continue to handle miscellaneous programming tasks as we continue to improve our site. Watch for some new improvements in the future.

I personally do not like the fact that an article about me has stayed at the top this long, that is certain. But what do you propose to have news about. Prosit, which was mentioned, was released a while back. I'll admit that it's neat, but what does that have to do with now? The TI-89 ROM v1.5 was not detected until it was a month or so old, and plus some programs won't even work on it - so that's not all that great of news either. If you think there's some really great news --- send it to news@ticalc.org that's what that email address is for!

Ok, I posted a comment in reply to Kirk's comment about 8 minutes ago, and now it is _GONE_...

Why are you guys deleting my comments? I didn't violate any rule.. this is not making me very happy.

Send news at news@ticalc.org... the idea is good, but it would be even better if it actually worked. Personally, I sent two mails so far to that adress, the first one was to signal the release of Pokemon, the second one was about the program TI-GCC. IMHO both were newsworthy, and there is the result : nothing about them. So, I don't know, maybe you don't have enough free time to manage the news section, in that case I'm sure that many peoples (including me) would be glad to help you. Just let us know.

I'm not handling news any more, remember. Additionally, news about new files is subject to the discretion of our file archivers, who will know better if a program is newsworthy.

I've actually written lots more poems and short stories, however I don't feel like posting them on the Internet again. People who want to see them should email me.
