Preview of Yoshi
Posted on 8 December 1998, 12:22 GMT
Brandon Sterner and Tim Anderson, members of TCPA (TI Calculator Programming Alliance), are currently developing Yoshi for the TI-83 (SOS). This is a clone of the popular Gameboy game and should be released within the next couple of weeks. They are also developing two other games for the TI-83, Astroids and Centipede.

Looks promising. :) I'd like to add my name to the list of those who would like to see this game ported to the '86.
Also, out of curiosity, isn't there some sort of copyright infringement with developing this game? I remember that someone a while back got tagged by some company and told not to continue development of a game (in the end, that company threw money and employment opportunities at him).

Making Yoshi is impressive, but I've always liked Tetris more. But, did you say Asteroids? That is the one game I've most desired to see on the TI83. Thanks guys.

"boring RPG games or thinking games"?
I think you should turn around and see whoever is hitting you repeatedly on the backside of your head. Wasnt Tetris the most played game on the calc? Didn't FF7 sell more copies than any other action game? I like action games too, but I dont think that they surpass RPGs and thinking games.

Looks cool, never played it but if it's an exact copy of a gameboy game it can't suck that bad. But enough with old-arcade game clones. There's enough of them around and not enough RPGs. Someone should make a Zelda clone. I understand that it would be huge, but make it into seperate programs. You get halfway through and then have to load another program. Hell, make it 100 programs, it would still be cool. I'm sure we all have graph-links for the pc, it's no big deal to erase one program and put another on. (sound would also be cool, but that's pushing it)
MAKE MORE PROGRAMS WITH SOUND!!!!!

Groovy...let's get this stuff ported to the 89/92/92+ platforms! (We already have an Asteroids, but puzzle games are -always- appreciated!)

i think that when ist finished that the authors should port the code to the 82 or give it to some one that would like to port it like evilsam or someone like that.

I think that Yoshi for the TI-8x calcs is a great idea. I remember hours and hours of fun I had playing it on the good ol' NES. Good luck! Oh...and don't forget Bust-A-Move...
