Z80 Assembly Coders
Posted on 24 October 1998, 01:56 GMT
The Z80 Assembly Coders, a TI assembly programming group that will focus on the Z80 microprocessor, was founded by Will Dempster. They plan on writing numerous programs for the TI-82, TI-83, TI-85, and TI-86. A website is currently under development at http://members.xoom.com/z80asm/ which will soon move to their newly registered domain name at http://www.zed80asm.org. The current members are:

Well, well, well. It looks like we've got two opposing factions, fighting for survival in the notorious ASM Wars. Ah...the smell of competition...

I agree with Anarchos. Two new ASM groups so quickly formed. At least you guys only have the 86 asm in common. I know I'll get bashed for this, but why r there no BASIC groups any more?

the z80 programming for TI's calculators is great because it's a free work and because there are only young programmers. At the start of the PC, it was the same programmers, but because of the creations of associations, the games for the PC are now available with money and are became an professional job.
I hope that the programming for TI's calculator will not become like with the PC. Today, a novice programmer can ask some informations to a great programmer because all TI's users are friends and i hope that it will be always like it !
Sorry for my bad english,

These groups seem self-defeating if they dont have experienced ASM coders working within. I dont know about the Zenith group, but this one doesnt seem to have anyone who really 'knows' ASM. Course i cant really criticize, since i am very knowledgeable in z80 asm, have made games, but havent made any effort to start a group. All im saying is without experience youre going to get ASM tutorials that are bunk, and just like the other 10 billion ASM journals that have been done-- nothing but the basics, which really dont help. There must be at least 10 lessons out there that teach how to do hello world, some register manipulation.. if youre lucky, a lil pushin and poppin. oh well, theres my comments. good luck
