Thomas Fernique to port FallDown to the TI-89
Posted on 22 October 1998, 04:08 GMT

Thomas Fernique is in the process of porting FallDown to the TI-89. He is looking for someone to make a title picture for the game. It must be 160x50 pixels, in 256 color BMP format, and must have the logo "FallDown" on it. Whoever makes the title picture will get their name somewhere in the game.

Don't add a pic. I don't have the mem on my 89 for a pic that doesn't even increase the gameplay. They should have given the 89 1mb :)

How can you not have enough memory for a picture on your 89? For christ's sake, you have 500K to work with!

How would I make a picture for the calculator? Is there a certain program to use or is it just a certain picture type like a BMP or JPG? Oh yea, and what is FallDown about?

The TI-89 sucks. Games for it always look crappy...

Only because they're all direct ports from the 92, so they're not fully refined. If anything, the 89's will eventually start looking better than the rest (except maybe 92's?)

How bout makin Plane Jump in grayscale for the 89? Or maybe asteroids or mega race? When will there be as many 89 asm games as there are 92 asm games now?

talk about being impatient..
it's only been out for a little while, give it some time and quit complaining, or learn assembly and make a game yourself

Does anyone know how much the TI cable-only link costs (in dollars) for the TI83? If this FallDown thing is good enough to start a series of messages, I want to try the 83 version.

Re: Re: Thomas Fernique to port FallDown to the TI-89
some weirdo

"The object of the game is simple. You are a ball that is falling through a maze. You must
keep falling as much as possible, not letting the top of the screen hit the top of you. You
can not win this game, it is an endless game in a sense, just like Tunnels."

its not a big deal of a game, all you do is push left and right, it gets boring after about 5 games.
but you should get the graph link anyway so you can have the other games like tetris, space invaders, etc. most of the basic games are pretty lame compared to the assembly games, so get the cable !

I personally like FallDown. It's one of the best TI-82 games out there. It's addicting! I'm glad to see something good is coming for the 89 besides Mario 89...hey, by the way, what's going on with that?
