Posted on 20 October 1998, 06:10 GMT

The Doors Team has released Doors OS v0.8 Beta for the TI-89 and TI-92 Plus. This version features a common file format that was agreed upon with Rusty Wagner, Anti Crash protection, two libraries: userlib and graphlib, a few sample programs, and some more documentation files.

I can't find the userlib library anywhere. The programs tell me that I need it but I didn't get it in the file I downloaded, does anyone else have this problem?

I've also noticed that Userlib.9xz is not supplied with the zipped file. Userlib.asm, although, is supplied.......so just follow the instructions and compile Userlib.asm to Userlib.9xz and you're set.

What anti-crash protection? I have had Tetris and Mario cause address errors. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had that same problem. Needless to say, Neither one had ever crashed _before_ i installed the shell.

n/a

Try an HP48GX. It's a little more expensive, but it's worth it if you can get used to the RPL. It has more memory and expansion slots.

Not really. I got mine for $120. The 89 is selling for $150.

I like the idea of a crash-proof OS for any calculator, especially the 89. I hate it when my calc crashes and I have to pull out the batteries and start from scratch. Hey...where'd the title for the OS come from? Does it have anything to do with Jim Morrison?

The title is more from Windows than from the Doors..

a68k problem
Ed Behn

I am a very experienced programmer (basic, C, VB, and a little Java). I have never programmer in assembly before. I downloaded Doorses, which included the a68k software. When I try to assemble the hello.asm file the assembler tells me that the libraries contain 'Undefined Symbols'.

a86k.exe, hello.asm and all the libraries are in one directory. I give the command line

a86k hello.asm

Does anyone know what could be wrong??? :-(
