I think since all the main calc channels, such as #ti, #ti-files, and #dim-ti are all on EfNet, EFNet would be the logical choice :)

Will #ti's bot-owners be moderating the chat? And

Just something that might be helpful...the TI-Files have an IRC section with a walk-through on how to get started...try http://www.ti-files.org/irc/

Good luck...hope to chat with you some time.

Not meaning to sound stupid, but what exactly will this alliance do? Please do not reply saying go to the chat session because I have a class at that time.

Re: Re: IRC meeting scheduled for Alliance discussion
this is what i think

it will do nothing . . nothing better than what we have now will come out of it. the good programmers wont come down to their level by joining the alliance, and the not-so-good programmers who might join will not produce as good a product as that of the good programmers

Beautiful optimism there...

I can tell that you are one of the "not-so-good programmers" that thinks he's a "good programmer" and makes the best programs in the world.

No, your wrong. It's won't do nothing, it will have a negative impact on the ti community. It will eliminate competition and we all know what that does: no one will try to develop anything that is good. But I agree with you on another aspect, all the good programmers won't join, and the lousy programmers might join which will produce lousy programs. I think we need more competition, like the programming contests in the ti-files newsletter. This will be an incentive for people do develop the best programs they can. An allience will only make lousy programs. Some of the programmers will slack off and that will make the good programmers have to work extra hard, then eventually, even the good programmers will quit and go back to making their own thing and that will be the quick demise of the allience

Re: Re: Re: Re: IRC meeting scheduled for Alliance discussion
yeah!

yes, you are right, seperate programmers will produce better programs as opposed to one big alliance. the alliance will diminish if it ever gets started and then everything will be back to normal.. so it actually has no effect on the ti community except a waste-o-time :oP

I am sick of everyone saying this won't work or it is a waste of time. You can consider it a good thing. We have chosen good programmers for this Alliance. We had strict 'tryouts' they had to go through. We are planning to make excellent programs. Any games that aren't good to the beta testers won't be published. I would love to have more production companies like this but there aren't. The TCPA will be producing only excellent games.

If you would like to be beta tester please send me an email, or if you think you are a good enough programmer please email me also.

Re: IRC meeting scheduled for Alliance discussion
BABYS

Reading half of the stuff said here I have come to the conclusion that the half that says that this alliance will fail are a bunch of babies. No insult to anyone on this board but don't you have better things to do than whine, whine, and whine even more then when you are done you complain. At least these people make an effort. All you and I(at the momment) are doing is wasting people's time. Let the alliance begin. If it is to fail let it, and if it is to succeed let it. Otherwise you can start your own, and hold your own chats on places of your choice you do something and don't complain because someone else is smarter than you, and instead of wasting their energy complaining, did something.
