Description
|
These two programs (AEGYPT and EGYPT) give you Egyptian fractions i.e unit fractions, like: 1/2, 1/8 out of ordinary fractions like: 5/8. They are called so because the Egyptians did not have a format for the compact notation 5/8. Instead they had tables which aimed to cover every possible compact notation, PHEW! There is also a link to a page on the subject and some more info on the programs in the text file. Update: Both programs have been improved to perform better, and give smaller unit fractions.
