This game brings back old memories. Recreated to the finest detail, Space Station Pheta still retains the great gameplay that it did way back when.
The playability as a whole is pretty good. The key sensitivity seems a wee bit high, as I wandered off the ledge a few too many times accidentally. Otherwise, the controls make sense and are quite responsive. The graphics are almost exactly like the original, down to the little dance when you clear a level. Very well done!
The only things missing is a small manual to explain what the few powerups do. It having been fifteen years or so since I last played it, I can't quite remember.
All in all, an excellently done game; it's just as good as the original! |

"Space Station Pheta" is just a fun little game. You are a little man that goes through levels [10 included, but there is a level editor.] and finds keys to unlock doors. Apparently, he is outside the space station because he only has a limited supply of oxygen. You must find the door before this supply diminishes, or find yourself in a little ball on the floor. There are a few tanks throughout the levels that can add to your supply and give you a longer time on that level, though.
The graphics in this thing are no better than can be expected on a z80 calculator. It has impressive speed with the sprites, considering how many there are. The man appears to be running; cries/screams when falling, kicks, and jumps. The only thing I must get used to is that when the person jumps, a block is skipped. Usually in games such as this, the person only goes to the next horizontal block while going up one vertical. This is not a bad thing, but will certainly take some getting used to.
Graphics: 9/10 Speed: 10/10 Originality: 7/10 Replay value: 9/10 Overall: 35/40 not too shabby. |
