“TiLP” is an awesome program for *NIX. It has a light, but powerful interface, and several features that “TI connect” doesn't have, including built-in ROM file ripping and clock. The only downside is that by default it must be run as root, or by sudo. This is only a small annoyance, but there is nothing the author can do about it.

Interface 10/10
Speed 10/10
Features 10/10
Overall 10/10

“TiLP” is an amazing linking program! I have been using it for years in conjunction with TI-Connect, and I have found only two things that TI-Connect does better. “TiLP” cannot get the time off of a Ti-84 Plus (SE) and “TiLP” cannot upgrade the OS of a calculator very reliably, and it will just freeze a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition (I do not know about the TI-84 Plus line, as I do not own one of these calculators). This is the only version for Windows 2000/ME/XP that I have found that will support the SilverLink cable. I also had a lot of trouble on initial GTK+ releases (6.5 and up), but on the new version, they included all of the required DLLs with the program! “TiLP” even supports more calculators than the TI-Connect does (On the PC, it supports the TI-82 with a SilverLink while TI-Connect doesn't!), I was having troubles getting a ROM dump from a TI-83 Plus with the SilverLink and this is the program that finally made it possible for me to use the ROM with VTI. However, I absolutely love this project! I think that if they continue on the pace that they are going, that maybe TI might adopt them on their site. Please continue the “TiLP” line.
