Having seen some impressive work before in TI-BASIC, I've decided to try Mario Kart for the TI-83+, to only discover it was only another BASIC tunnel. Being the fact it is a BASIC tunnel make it unoriginal, but this game runs way too slow for its kind. It doesn't give me any Mario Kart feel at all, as there is only one racer on the screen at once, and it doesn't even have any kind of powerups at all like the original game. That said, if the game was optimised properly, I'm sure some people would find enjoyment from it. As it is now, I give it a 1/10 score. |

This game is not really good. It essentially is like falldown, in Basic.
Graphics: 1/10
You are the first letter of your character (Mario=M)
Speed: 2/10
Slow. Poorly coded.
Addictability: 2/10
I played it twice.
Overall: 2/10
Don't download this. |

Mario Kart is best suited for those new to calculator "race" games. It features the same action as nearly every other top down racer only with a few new options. For one you can change your racer, which sounds exciting until you realize all that does is change the letter representing your car. Then you can also change your track, which also sounded exciting until I realized it was the same old easy, medium, and hard except I had no trouble beating any of them my first them around.
Aside from its unoriginal aspect it performed well and was pretty well written and decently fun. I can't say I'd ever play it more than five minutes in total though. |

It's really hard on the eyes and you can't play it for long. An improvement would be have the "M" or "L" move, and not the track. Also, it's not a biggie, but there's no choice to be Peach! Otherwise, it's a nice idea, but it needs a few improvements. |
