I thought that “Aegis Arboes” is an overall excellent game, especially for BASIC. The game is a text-based RPG: you fight, you buy stuff, and you level up. Some of the things are done slightly differently than in most RPG's (you fight monsters "one level higher" or "one level lower"). Easily the best part is the multiplayer. If you have two different characters in two save slots, you can have them duel. It is very entertaining to compete with friends to make the best characters to fight against each other. Nice reference in the cheat program (*cough*Douglas Adams*cough*). There is no plot or any semblance of a real story. I didn't mind this, however. A more serious complaint is that it's completely text and BASIC based, but I don't mind that either.
