Amazing-89 is a pretty solid first-person maze game.
Genre: Puzzle
Graphics: 7.5-10
The graphics have grayscale wall textures and gray floor and white ceiling. They may feel bland, but they get the job done and are a huge step up from BASIC maze games.
Gameplay: 8/10
Nothing complicated, just a plain maze game. You have the first person view on the left and the overhead view on the right. My only gripe is that it does not show where you are on the overhead view, so you have to use landmarks like single sectors to find your way around.
Speed: 7.5/10
The game has pretty good speed, although it gets a little bit slow when you get nearer to a wall. It is MUCH faster than BASIC "raycasters".
Memory usage: ~9k
Worth memory?: Yes. It is also the smallest, fully functional asm raycaster. It doesn't have the speed of the FAT engine, but takes 1/8 the memory.
Bottom Line: This is a good game when you want a simple game to play in school. Recommended!
Final Score: 8.0 Very Good
