Graphics 9/10
I think the graphics are as good as a "Pong" clone can get. I give it a 9/10, because the author definitely could have made the menu better.
Gameplay 10/10
The gameplay is obviously going to be boring after a while, it's a pong game. But the "Play against a friend" mode is definitely the focal point of this program, which I have enjoyed alot.
Controls 9/10
The switching from having to press 2ND then enter, then clear, is kind of annoying. When I first go this program, I ran it, and it seemed to be stuck on the .Pong. empty screen, and I thought my calculator froze. But, that is me being stpuid and not the programmers fault.
Overall 9.5/10
I am very excited to look through the source code for this, and I thank the programmer for his generosity. Keep up the good work! |

I believe that the AI in "Pong Z80" is not as smart as it could be. Once the ball speeds up it is easy to get it past the computer-controlled paddle. While I would expect to be able to hit the ball with the corner of the paddle, I often miss the ball at slow speeds like that.
Although this is a PC game adaptation, as far as TI calculators go, the game is fairly original.
The graphics are perfect for a "Pong" game, but perhaps there could be an option to reverse the colours of the paddle and the background. Considering the very small size of the game and the lack of complexity of the graphics or the gameplay, I must say that this program does not use the resources of my TI-84 Plus calculator to the fullest. Nevertheless, I think that calculator game programmers should be aiming to create a game of this style, which is not overly complex in graphics or gameplay.
Overall Score: 9/10 |

Inspired by the original arcade game Pong, you can expect all the fun you had in the arcade everyday since you have it in your portable calculator. Talk about convenience!
Graphics : 7/10 You can't expect much from Pong z80, but they're good enough to understand what you're doing. I do hope that the author would get rid of the black background; it can hurt your eyes.
Controls : 10/10 The controls are pretty much straight forward.
Gameplay : 8/10 I disagree with the other reviewers. The computer is smart, but not THAT good. The AI thinks for itself, which is one of my favorite things of the game. But if you get the ball fast enough (which will happen 80% of the time), you can easily trick the computer.
Fun Factor : 8.5/10 This game might get boring if you play too long, but I think that the true fun lies within the two player mode where you can play against your friends.
Overall : 8.5/10 Overall, I would recommend this game. |

Pong z80 is an average game. It has okay graphics (Well, how good can Pong graphics get?) and the AI is awesome! The AI moves to the spot as soon as the ball goes over half and it almost never misses. If you want a challenging Pong game, this is it. I feel that Pong z80 is pretty boring, and that the white on black background hurts my eyes!
Graphics - 5/10 Gameplay - 5/10 (AI too hard!) Fun Factor - 5/10 (Not very addicting at all!) Overall - 5/10 |

Graphics : 8/10
This game has fairly good graphics... but when you're playing the white paddles on black can hurt your brain.
Controls : 10/10
It's really simple to use the controls in this game. It's just up and down basically.
Gameplay : 5/10
The AI in this game is TOO good. Before the time the ball gets fast enough to trick the AI, you'll probably mess up.
Fun Factor : 6/10
This is a game for when you're bored out of your skull.
Overall : 7/10
This game is ok, but don't expect hours of fun. |
