Attention span: 6/10 The later levels are nearly impossible. Controls: 10/10 Standard movement controls. Implementation: 6/10 Crocodiles, turtles, and lady frog are missing. Overall: 7/10 Needs some improvement.
Frogger is a game where you must lead your frog through traffic, water, and other perils in order to lead it to its home. Lead five frogs home and you may move on to the next level. The game is based on the original arcade version. Since then it has been ported to almost every imaginable platform, now including the TI-86.
The graphics in this game are great. However, there are no crocodiles or color-changing turtles, and there is only one row of logs in the water. Some of the later levels are impossible, probably so that no one could win, thus eliminating the need for a reward. |

I don't know about the grayscale version, but this game is my favorite rendition of “Frogger” on any TI calculator thus far. The game is solid and bugless. The cars, logs, and goals are seamlessly in place and wonderful graphically. The controls aren't too fast or too slow. I feel like I am playing the original. Even with the amount of graphics and fonts, the game weighs in at only 3k (actually a little less). 8/10 |
