I've found Omnicalc to be extremely useful. The extended functionality is great, particularly the Entries Menu, and is very well done, but there are a few bugs, especially this one major problem: The radical simplify function has a bug in it when entering a number such as 20,000 gives the wrong answer (10 ROOT 2 instead of 100 ROOT 2) And simplifying the square root of 10,000, which is just 100, it outputs 10. In fact, it seems to have problems with all multiples of 10,000. Other radical simplifiers don't seem to have this problem.
Apart from that, it is a truly great program, and will not disappoint. |

Omnicalc is an amazing and highly sophisticated app. It has many useful commands for BASIC programmers. I have found one problem, though: The program section of the start-up app will not work correctly if the ram recovery command is on. Otherwise, this is a must-download! It has virtual calc so you have two calcs in one, and, as I said, ram recovery if your ram gets cleared (I have found this very useful). |

Ok i'll say it. This is the best application ever made. It has lots of math functions, has memory backup, has font changes, sprite editors, so much more stuff. It has everything a programmer should have. Most advanced basic programs use Omnicalc too, so you basically have to download it. You must download this App!

"Omnicalc" is an Incredible set of extra functions for your calculator. By accessing some "added" menues, you can get the calculator to perform very advanced math, easily draw sprites in BASIC programs, and with a set of calculator headphones even produce sound. A must have for BASIC programmers and anyone else with a calculator obsession.
User Friendliness - 9/10 Commands entered, even when installed, use real(##,[functions]) . Although this makes the program able to be transferred, it also makes it hard to read. Other than that, due to online help, it is very easy to use.
Usefulness - 10/10 If there's something this program can't do, it will probably be able to in the next release. The fact that it's (as of today) still a live project really helps.
Overall Rating - 10/10 I would recommend that all users and even classrooms have this program. |

Something about Omnicalc screams "best program ever." It is one of the few apps that is always on my calc. It adds a ton of functionality to the calculator and gives you cool options, such as lower case typing and RAM backup. The RAM is particularly useful for me as I probably reset my ram every day. It saves you a lot of trouble and is something no programmer should be without. -------------------------------------- Bugginess: 9/10 - Has a few errors Value: 10/10 - You'll realize it the first time your calc crashes Tilt: 10/10 - Incredible program -------------------------------------- Overall: 10/10 |

Omnicalc is a must-have APP for the TI-83+. It adds much more functionality to the calc. I especially enjoy the entries menu, and the fact that it automatically adds commas to answers, which makes the answer easier to read. The base conversion thing is pretty cool, especially if you may be taking a Cisco class and need to convert from binary to hexadecimal...it works! It has a feature that can change the calc's font too. My favorite is the Techno font, also downloadable here at ticalc.org.
Overall: 11/10 |

Omnicalc has seen many updates to its name lately with v1.23 being by far its best update. Now with the added support of Symbolic and MirageOS, it is necessity for your 83+.
Omnicalc has many useful features. Some features that stand out from the rest for me are: the Entries menu, which allows you to paste past entries via a menu, as well as the Custom menu, which allows you to paste tokens stored from the catalog. The altered log(), log(number, base), has been very useful during math. So too have simp(square root)and const(). The parenthesis bug fix now allows you to close a parenthesis around certain tokens such as: (5nCr4). In previous versions you could only use these functions in the home screen, but with v1.23 you can now use them in BASIC programs. I hope to see a Curly&Square bracket assistants in a future releases and for the current functions be able to parse in areas other than the home screen.
This program from Michael is definitely unique and a great contribution to the ticalc.org community. |

Omnicalc v1.23 offers the users the greatest capabilities to date. I have yet seen a program that enhances the capabilities of the operating system. Numerous bugs are fixed, and the ability to play music and execute single lines of ASM commands in BASIC programs is added, much to the jealously of my friends (who are fans of iPods :-D). Tokens are in the real(XX,"") format, even for "Symbolic," so that uninstalling it does not require a battery pull. Good job Michael! |

Omnicalc is the best Application by far that I have ever seen. It offers you so many features, I couldn't name them all here without taking up the whole page. I'll try to name as many as I can, though. Omnicalc v1.21 offers you even more features than before, and that would seem impossible! Now, it offers sound in BASIC programs! Oh, how long I have waited for that! It also allows you to execute ASM commands like b_call(_ClrLCDFull) from BASIC programs(if you know the opcodes, that is). It lets you convert from any base 2-32 in a snap, so no more thinking for you! It can also factor any positive integer, simplify radicals, restore your memory, and lets you have a virtual calculator inside your usual one! Even more features include converting Roman Numerals to decimal numbers, subfactorials, returning numeric values of constants, returning the gamma of a number, sending and recieving bytes over the link port, remainders of division, sprites, [On]+[Alpha] to run MirageOS, symbolic functions, thousand seperators, an entry menu, hiding the Finance APP, a quick APPS menu, memory protection, a parentheses assistant, a custom menu, custom font sets, and compressing basic and ASM programs!
If you can't see from this that you should download this Application, you are not as smart as you think you are.
On a scale of 1-10, I give this App a 212,132,165,132,130! |

An awesome program for the TI-83+/SE! With all its extra functions for the calculator, this is a must download. All but one or two of the functions have practical applications for everyday use, and some can be used for more things than one - i.e. the "factor(" may be used also as a prime number checker. Also amazing is the small file size - only one App space, and it crams in and Entries menu, RAM recovery, base conversion, and much, much more. In short, it is extremely efficient, especially for TI-83+ users who only have about 150k or so of archive memory on their calculators. This program would be great for almost anyone in any math class from Geometry and up - some things you are too lazy to do, such as simplifying radicals, are done (almost) instantly with Omnicalc.
The only drawback that I have found with this program is that some commands, such as base conversion through the use of "baseInput(", are difficult to understand - at first, (like me :P) you don't really know what syntax to put in the brackets, and it wasn't until later that I found out about the help.
However, this is a great program overall, so 9.9/10! |

This is an awesome APP for the 83+. If you haven't tried it out, download it!
One of the most useful features is RestoreMem( because you can back up your RAM incase that game of yours crashed :) Once set, it will automatically backup when you press [2nd] [Off]. So if a stupid friend popped a battery, you can use this!
Another feature which is quite handy is Entries Menu. This allows a full scrolling menu of all the past entries. If you do repeated calculations and don't like to [2nd] [Enter] a lot to do it (Physics formulas, Calculus problems, etc.), this function is a must use!
Although I don't use it, Virtual Calculator will allow simultaneous calculations in two different calculators in only one! The only thing bad about it is if you do Archiving while this is activated, it may cause a crash like in MirageOS games or something.
Base Conversion is really nifty! When I need to convert hex to binary in a flash, or vice versa, I use this! Supports bases 2-32, so convert at your own leisure!
I have not touched on the extra functions yet. Pressing [Prgm] twice will give a whole bunch of extra functions to use. I won't even cover them here. If you have Symbolic APP installed, you can use them also! The most used function that I use the most is the custom menu. You can store your most used functions in here. I store all my programming and string related functions here (because it takes a while to find them in the Catalog, knowing you can't use hotkeys like in other menus).
The 83+ SE will benefit the most because they can use RestoreMem( and Virtual Calc. Also if you use OS 1.15+, the functions turn into upside-down question marks, so use an older one instead. All this functionality in only one Flash page (16k)! |

This APP is wonderful, albeit a single problem, it is extremely useful and should be used on ALL calculators that have room. The TI-83 SE (Silver Edition) calculators will benefit the most from this APP. The Virtual Calc feature is helpful, but I don't use it much.
RAM recovery, on the other hand, is very helpful, but don't depend on it. The area where the backup is stored can still get corrupted, and it only works with the Silver Edition (because of extra RAM that's added). Keeping backups of you RAM in a group is still a good idea. It has base conversion features, which in my opinion function well. And as an added bonus, you can choose an option from Omnicalc's extended menu (hit Program key twice)and press the plus key (like in the Catalog help APP from TI) and get instant help for any of the functions.
Other features like Entries menu can be annoying, but you can disable it. The Parentheses Assistant is nice if you find yourself adding too many parentheses in an equation and then you always wonder why you get a Syntax error.
Also if you have the Symbolic APP on the calculator, when installing Omnicalc, Symbolic will also install (very cool).
Good News: TONS of features in such a small package. Compatible with Symbolic. RAM recovery can get you out of a jam.
Bad News: Incompatible with anything other than Symbolic that adds a menu. Tokens (the displacement of additional functions) are screwy in OS 1.15 or later (1.14 highly recommended). Factoring feature could support larger numbers.
Overall: Although it has a few problems, they are small. It's a must download. 4.9/5 |

This is one of the best programs I have ever seen. It has a Virtual Calc (switch back and forth two calcs on one) feature that a whole App was made to do. Also, the memory menu protection is great, it lets you access the memory, but doesn't allow you to delete anything. Also an incredible feature is that you can restore your RAM with ease. The features are incredible, even little things like 2nd entry brings up a menu, and how it lets you use other bases (binary, etc.) While you may be thinking it must be huge, somehow it manages to only take up 1 App slot. This is a must for all TI-83+ users. |
